beryl & tony

1979, just before her 50th birthday, pictured here with my stepfather Tony. I've never seen Mum wear such a dark shade of lippie but that was because we were all in a concert so needed darker than usual makeup. I remember that at one of the rehearsals, Tony was helping to shift a piano and they dropped it on his fingers - he was in agony, but his fingers surprisingly weren't broken. Needless to say Mum and I got the giggles when it happened and we had to try and hide it.
